YOUR MENTORS
The Two Mandatory Criteria for Any Mentor
There are two criteria that your mentor must have. First, they must have expertise or wisdom to guide you. Secondly, they must have your unique best interests in front of their own. Your mentor must exhibit both of these. It's not either/or. If someone is wise, but does not have your best interests in mind, you'll be subject to someone taking advantage of you or manipulating you. And even if a someone loves you dearly, but does not have the expertise or experience to properly guide you, you'll be subject to well meaning but bad advice.
Our greatest privilege in our work is to mentor your teen for higher performance and greater joy. We have the experience and expertise, and we treat their dreams just as if they were that of our own children - with utmost care, compassion, motivation and accountability.
Meet Aly Calvo & Andrea Kulberg, M.Ed.
We're twins who should never have lived past our first night. Andrea lost most of her eyesight by the time we left the hospital, but we both have a great vision together.
We've conquered a severe disability, near homelessness, rejection, single-motherhood, cancer, and more... in order to become global entrepreneurs, speakers, Olympic torch bearer, All-American and world champion athletes, and joyful moms. We've worked with thousands of athletes, coaches, and their families around the world.
Both Aly and Andrea cheered and earned their degrees at The University of Texas. Aly's BA is in Psychology with an emphasis in physical therapy. Andrea earned her Masters Degree in Education. Her first speaking engagement was for President Bush's Committee for Persons with Disabilities, when she was just 17 years old.
Andrea is currently a strong single mom with a daughter (Caitlyn) and a son (Sean), both of whom attend The University of Georgia. Both are studying Business. She has an awesome cat named Leo, which stands for Love Each Other.
Aly is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two children (Mady and Tanner), plus a "bonus son" (Tim) who lives with them and whom they love as their own since his home flooded during Hurricane Harvey. . Their daughter is attending The University of Texas at Austin, and their son plays baseball in High School. Tim is the starting linebacker at the same high school. They have two dogs, a mini-labradoodle named Shipley, and a Champion Hungarian Vizsla named Poco …both dogs are supremely spoiled.
